Wausau boy hurt at Biron ski event

A June 6 article of Wausau Daily Herald revealed that a toddler from Wausau was recently airlifted to a hospital after he was struck by a vehicle at a ski event in Biron.

The incident reportedly occurred on June 5 in the vicinity of 80th Street and North Biron Drive. Emergency personnel responded to the crash scene around 7:45 p.m., the Wood County Sheriff’s Office reported. The boy, only identified as a 6-year-old, was struck and run over by the vehicle’s rear passenger wheel. The accident happened after the toddler abruptly ran to the side of the vehicle, which was running below 20 mph. The victim was breathing and conscious when he was airlifted to a medical facility, police confirmed. The driver, whose name was withheld, provided information to responding authorities.
