12 year prison sentence for Milwaukee hit-and-run driver

The 21-year-old Milwaukee hit-and-run driver who caused a fatal car accident last year was sentenced on April 29 to serve 12 years behind bars.

Circuit Judge Joseph Donald of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court also sentenced the driver, Jatavious Kwan Webster, to six years of probation after he pleaded guilty to causing the car accident that killed Adrian McGaughy in 2015. Webster crashed into Kendra Hammond’s car, a vehicle in which McGaughy was a passenger. Reports stated that Webster, who Hammond believed to be drag racing at the time of the accident, abandoned his vehicle after the incident. Reports also revealed that Webster’s license was suspended during the time of the crash.
