Kia vehicles with faulty steering parts recalled in the US

Over 256,000 Kia vehicles in the U.S. are being recalled by the manufacturer due to a steering problem that can cause the vehicle to crash, an article reported on November 16.

Reports said the recall affects the 2014-2015 Soul compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) models. According to the recall documents submitted by the Korean automaker, steering components in the affected vehicles may become loose and detach due to substandard adhesive used to hold parts together. No incidents of injuries or crashes caused by the defect were reported to Kia before the recall. Kia dealers learned of the problem from warranty claims reported by dealers. Starting December 22, Kia dealers are expected to conduct repairs on the recalled vehicles.
