Elderly church goers killed in Racine pedestrian crash

Two elderly churchgoers in Caledonia Village were fatally struck by a vehicle right after leaving a church service, a January 25 article of Chicago Tribune stated.

According to reports, couple Oscar and Vernetta Lang were walking outside of St. Louis Catholic Church at 5:30 p.m. when they were both hit by a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV). Oscar and Vernetta, both 83 years old, died of fatal injuries at the accident scene. Two nurses who had come from the same church service attempted to save the couple while medical responders were on their way, according to the church pastor. The SUV driver, only identified by Caledonia authorities as a 32-year-old woman, was being investigated. Both she and the two children in her car were unhurt in the pedestrian collision.

The Wisconsin wrongful death lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier ® extend their condolences to the family and the community who are suffering from the recent loss of the Lang couple.
