Waukesha officer busted for suspected intoxicated driving

An off duty sheriff’s deputy in Waukesha County was recently apprehended for suspected drunken driving, the Journal Sentinel reported on January 8.

Authorities identified the arrested deputy as Paul Eckert, 37. Reports said at around 10:00 p.m. of January 5, Eckert was driving home from a party when he crashed his vehicle in Genesee. The deputy reportedly was alone in the vehicle when the accident occurred. Eckert, who was later arrested by the State Patrol, was cooperative when authorities arrived at the crash scene. He has since been assigned to administrative duties until a later decision on his investigation.
