Toyota recalls 247K vehicles with Takata airbags in the U.S.

Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota on October 20 stated that they are recalling 247,000 vehicles with Takata airbags that may accidentally explode, a CNBC 25 article reported.

According to reports, Toyota and other vehicle manufacturers issued regional recalls to determine whether high humidity was to blame for bursting airbags after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) began investigating incidents like this in Florida and Puerto Rico. The vehicles added in the recall, with models from 2002-2005, reportedly have Takata airbags installed in the front passenger seat. Toyota dealers may have to temporarily disable front passenger seat airbags of the affected vehicles if the replacement parts are not yet available.

The Wisconsin personal injury attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier ® strongly believe that people who are injured in accidents caused by defective vehicles should be fairly compensated for their losses. If you or a loved one experienced this, we may help you pursue negligent automakers and hold them liable for your suffering. Discuss your situation with us by calling 800-242-2874 today.
