Wisconsin legislators approve bill toughening OWI punishment

Wisconsin state legislators passed a bill through the Senate on Tuesday, March 18 regarding drunk driving. Drivers that injure others while operating a vehicle while intoxicated will face a required minimum sentence of 30 days in prison.

The state Senate passed the bill in an effort to toughen drunk driving punishments. The newly approved bill would also force repeat drunk driving offenders to face at least 3 years in jail upon their 7th drunk driving conviction.

Sadly, when one person drives drunk, many people are endangered. If you have been harmed by an impaired driver in Wisconsin, an attorney at Habush Habush & Rottier ®, might be able to help you collect compensation.
