Wisconsin ranks 7th in nation for accidents involved deers

A recent study done by State Farm Insurance shows that the state of Wisconsin ranks 7th in the nation for the likelihood that a driver will strike a deer. Data shows that one out of every 78.7 Wisconsin drivers will strike a deer while traveling during the upcoming year.

State Farm Insurance is the second most popular insurance provider for passenger vehicles in the state of Wisconsin collected data from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration. The state with the highest number of deer-collison accidents is West Virginia with nearly one out of every 40 motorists involved in an accident with a deer each year.

State Farm added that November is one of the most common months for accidents and are reminding drivers to be on high alert while traveling between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. Officials stated that it may be beneficial to drive with your high beams on if possible and to take not hat deer usually travel in groups.
