Kia announces recall of 2009 models of Borrego SUV

A voluntary safety recall of the Kia Berrego has now been announced over some models of the Kia Borrego after it was discovered that there was a possible defect with the brake pedal mounts.

According the NHTSA, the number of vehicles that were affected in the recall is at 21, 942 and these models were built between May 2, 2008 and January 20, 2009.

According to the Car Connection online, the potential defect was found in certain models of the SUV when the fiberglass composition breaks apart in the collision and causes the vehicle immobilize and potentially  flip over.

If the vehicle did begin to roll, the emergency parking brake may have to be pulled. Consumers with this vehicle have been urged to schedule an appointment with the dealership in order to have the brake pedal mount fixed.
