Reckless driving case results in jail time and fines

A 28-year-old woman has been sentenced in a reckless driving case that occurred on Sept. 9 and left another woman with head injuries.

According to police officials, the accident occurred when a 19-year-old woman was on the hood of a friend’s car and was jumping on it. The driver then began to back out, telling police that it was a joke.

After the third jump, the woman slammed on the brakes causing the 19-year-old to fall onto the pavement and strike her head on the ground. She sustained a fractured skull in the accident, but told the jury that it was her own fault. The 28-year-old driver was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $883.
