Faulty cable cover results in large BMW recall

A  faulty cable cover that could potentially affect  5-and 6-series models made from 2003 to 2010 has caused the world’s largest premium auto maker to recall nearly 1.3 million vehicles.

According to a statement made by BMW AG, the battery cable cover in the trunk may have been mounted incorrectly and this can cause electrical malfunctioning that may prevent the car from starting or in some cases, cause a fire.

So far, only 1 percent of the vehicles that have been taken into dealerships to have the repairs done have actually had the faulty cover. Officials have said that the repair will take roughly 30 minutes to an hour and will be free of charge.

A design defect in a vehicle can cause serious injury. If you or a loved has suffered from an injury due to a poorly manufactured vehicle, contact the Wisconsin auto defect lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. by calling 800-242-2874 today.
