Police increase roadway patrol on Super Bowl Sunday

Wisconsin State Patrol increased the number of patrol on the road on Sunday after the Super Bowl in order to prevent impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel after Super Bowl parties.

According to statistics, the number of drunk driving arrests that occur across the state increase by 30 or 40 percent on Super Bowl Sunday compared to other Sundays throughout the year.

Brown County initiated a task force last year and officials have stated that the have seen a decrease in the number of arrests. Police officers are hoping that the increased law enforcement will help to cut back on the number of fatalities that occur each year due to drunk driving.
