One killed in 10-vehicle chain reaction accident

One person was killed and six others were injured as a result of a semi-truck accident that occurred on Tuesday morning.

According to Germantown police officials, the accident occurred as a semi-truck driver crossed the center line of the highway and collided head-on with car.

This collision then caused another semi-truck and eight other cars to be involved in a chain reaction accident. Two cars were trapped underneath a bed of a semi-trailer. One person in a trapped vehicle was killed and another was extricated by police and suffered serious injuries. Five other victims also suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The roadway was closed in both direction after the accident.

Our deepest thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim at this time.
