Drunk driver sentenced to 15 years in prison

A 41 year-old illegal immigrant who crashed head-on into another vehicle, killing the driver, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The drunk driving accident occurred on New Years Eve. The man was intoxicated when he drove the wrong way down I-94 in Milwaukee, hitting a car with a 34 year-old mother inside. His blood alcohol level at the time of the accident was .145, nearly twice the legal limit. He is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and driving with an invalid license. Along with his prison time he also is sentenced to 7 years extended supervision.

Another person was injured the next lane over in this accident but is expected to make a full recovery.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victims.
