Police investigate crash that killed UW student

Police are continuing to investigate the fatal car crash that took the life of a 21-year-old UW student on Sunday.

According to initial reports from the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Madison Police department, the accident occurred as the man’s vehicle sat in the right lane of traffic after he experienced some sort of car problem.

A 19-year-old woman, who was traveling in the right bound lane, struck the vehicle after the car in front of her changed lanes quickly to avoid the accident, leaving her no time to react to the situation. The case remains under investigation, but neither drugs or alcohol were said to be a cause.

Car accidents can change the lives of all people involved, our thoughts are with the victim and his friends and family.
