Texas family alleged Takata airbag killed their relative

Airbag manufacturer Takata Corp. and three other companies including Honda Motors are being sued by a Texas family that claims a loved one was killed by a faulty airbag inflator in a recent crash in Houston. The story was reported in January 30 news coverage of wacotrib.com.

According to the lawsuit filed by the Solis family, Carlos Solis, 35, was killed by small pieces of metal that came from a ruptured inflator installed in his Honda. Initial reports revealed that Carlos died of “blunt force injuries” to his neck. Takata and Honda expressed their sympathy to the family, and confirmed that the airbag inflator in his vehicle exploded. An unspecified amount of remunerations is being asked by the Solis family for its loss.

Aside from emotional pain, families who lose a relative in accidents caused by faulty vehicles also suffer financial problems.
