Wisconsin state trooper injured after being struck by a vehicle

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper was injured after being struck by a car while directing traffic away from a previous accident.

The accident occurred on Interstate 43 as the 51-year-old trooper was directing traffic and was struck by a 47-year-old woman who lost control of her vehicle on the snow covered roadway.

The woman and her two children were not injured, but the  trooper was sent to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.  The troopers were responding to a  pickup rollover accident nearby when the man was struck.

Car accidents can cause serious injury, our thoughts are with the victim as he recovers.
