Police are investigating an accident involving a car’s collision with a building, which left one man in critical condition.

A 54-year-old man was driving eastbound when his car left the road, ran over the sidewalk, and into the brick wall of an Edward Jones building. The car continued into the building and struck an interior wall.

The car then caught fire, but it was extinguished quickly by fire personnel. The man was trapped in the car and had to extricated by emergency crews. He was then transported to the hospital and is currently listed in critical, but stable condition. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
